Example 3

A tree with multiple specified people is built in this example. This method is used to produce the union of several peoples' genealogies. One example where this is useful is to make a tree containing the genealogies of all professors in a department. In the example below, the union of the lineage of three professors in my department (Stephen Bond, Michael Heath, and Luke Olson) is produced.

In this case, all people are assumed to be in the Math Genealogy Database, so Step 1 is left blank. Note that any person in Step 1 will be interpreted to be the student of all mathematicians in Step 2 and will be liked directly to them in the output graph. linked

In Step 2, we find the people to be the leaves in the tree and copy the addresses of their pages in the Math Genealogy Database.

Finally, select an output type and click the button.

The output for this example is shown below (scaled to 50% its original size).
